Hi guys,

So I’ve been asked to blog for the tournament this week. I’m not really a talkative kind of guy but I’ll try my best. My life is actually really boring, just the same routines every day. Driving range, chipping, putting…

Today was a really long frustrating day that I spent waiting around after the suspension of play. Play was suspended for 3 hours and I didn’t get to tee off till around 4pm so that was really difficult. It affected me, I struggled quite a lot and didn’t play well. But overall, it was a great experience playing with K.J. and Wen-Tang.

K.J’s a really funny guy. Yesterday we did a press conference together and we got to try making Laksa Johor. He really liked it and kept adding more sambal to the gravy! I wish I got to try it, it looked really tasty.

So anyway, I’ve got 23 more holes to go tomorrow so hopefully I’ll come up with something.

Tonight, I’m going to wind down by chilling out and talking to some friends. I’ll grab some dinner and then an early night because tomorrow’s going to be a long day.

Hoping for good weather tomorrow. Peace out.

Ben

Airil Says:

Hello everyone,

Thanks for taking the trouble to read this blog. I’m really grateful to my fans for their continued support. I’ve been asked to tell you how my day has been and what a normal day for me is like, so here goes.

Right now, I’m having Ikan Bakar for dinner. I don’t know where I am, but I’m in a wood covered restaurant and I can see Thistle Hotel from here. My business partners have come down from KL to watch me and we’re really enjoying the food.

The weather has been really terrible the last two days. I only played 4 holes today so it’s been a long day. It started ok but I’ve still got a long way to go and a lot of work to do.

I’ve been on the same flight with Retief Goosen. He’s a nice guy, doesn’t talk much. He’s a good playing partner. Watching him play has taught me a few things about how to improve my game and it’s been a really valuable experience. For the first few holes I felt bit nervous but there were no spectators until the back nine.

My routine before a game is very simple. About an hour before tee-off time, I’ll normally stretch for about 5-10 mins, then hit some balls at the range for about 30 mins to warm up, then practice my short game. I like to be on the tee about 10 mins before tee-off time.

I’ll eat at least an hour before. Don’t have any special food that I must eat but it can’t be too heavy. My favourite food to eat is Japanese food, but I can’t find it all the time unfortunately.

After a game, I usually wind down by hitting 20-30 balls to warm down and then I’ll stretch. I’ll get back, shower, watch tv and eat, really chilled stuff.

Ok, I’m going to get back to dinner, my fish awaits me.

Thanks,

Airil
